RULES:
- We can use gerund when the verb is the subject in the sentence, for example: Smoking is bad for your health.
- We can use gerund after a preposition, for instance: She is bad at dancing.
- We can use gerunds after phrasal verbs, for example: I'm looking forward to visiting my boyfriend.
- It's important to remember which verbs need and don't need gerunds: enjoy, love, avoid and so on.
- Finally, in the verbs: like, hate or start, they are correct with gerund or infinitive.
